Transit Visa (code A)
The validity of a single transit visa is 90 days as of issuing date with a maximum staying period of 14 days from the date of arrival in Indonesia.
Transit visa is given to a person who wish to continue journey to another country or to the country of his/her own origin or joining in or working for a transport vehicle continuing journey outside Indonesian territory or staying temporarily due to a delayed flight or journey (emmergency cases)
Request for transit visa be made by completing application form and enclosing:
- Two 4x6 cm color photographs;
- Passport with at least 6 months validity;
- Proof of tickets to a destined country for stopping-over passengers;
- Person stopping-over in Indonesia to join in or work for a transport vehicle continuing journey outside Indonesian territory must have proof of work contract.
Single Visitation Visa (code B)
Depending upon purpose of visits, visitation visas consists of Toursit Visa, Business Visa and Social-Coultural Visa.
These visas are valid for 90 days as for the issuing date with a maximum staying period of 60 days from the date of arrival in Indonesia.
Common requirements to obtain these visas may be fulfilled by completing application form and enclosing:
- Two 4x6 cm color photographs;
- Passport with at least 6 months validity.
- Proof of a return ticket or a ticket issued fortravelling to other countries;
and in particular:
Tourist Visa should be attached with:
4. Letter of recommendation from a sponsor or if deemed necessary a guarantee on the availability of funds to cover living expenses while in Indonesia.
Business Visa, be attached with:
4. Covering letter from the Indian/local company.
5. A Letter of Clearance and a sponsorship letter from company in Indonesia or a guarantee on the availability of funds to cover living expenses while staying in Indonesia.
Social Culture Visa:
4. A Letter of Clearance from Indonesian Immigration Authority and a sponsorship letter from family/relative staying in Indonesia or a guarantee on the availabity of funds to cover living expenses while staying in Indonesia.
Limited Stay Visa (code C)
Limited stay visa is given to ordinary passport holder. This visa is valid for maximum one-year stay in Indonesia. Extension of this visa/residential permit for another term of stay could be obtained in Indonesia by conveying a request to any nearby Immigration Office. Limited stay visa is given for:
- a person who is going to work in Indonesia, and or accompanying his/her family members (husband/wife and children).
- purpose on religious related matters, research, education and social affairs.
- working in a foreign investment or domestic inverstment ventures, or as technical professional on assignment by a foreign organisation.
- foreigners who will be joining his or her/their Indonesian husband/wife/parents.
- repatriation for ex-Indonesian citizen.
Requirements to obtain this visa may be fulfilled by completing application form and enclosing:
- Two 4x6 cm color photographs;
- Original passport or travel document with at least 6 months validity.
- Letter of Clearance from Indonesian Immigration Authorities and along with a sponsorship letter from concerned authority or company in Indonesia.
- A company and updated Curriculum Vitae for those accompanying - their spous and/or parents who are foreign citizens living in Indonesia. A copy of marriage certificate and/or birth certificate of the applicants may be required.
- Letter of recommendation from Indonesian institution or department inviting those who take up activities on religious related matters, research, education and social affairs in Indonesia.
- Letter of recommendation from the related deparment, the department of labour, the INvestment Coordinating Board, a copy of letter of agreement for foreign labour employment for those who wish to work in foreign investment or domestic investment ventures, or as technical professionals on assignment by a foreign organization.
Collective Single Visitation Visa (code D)
Collective single visitation visas are given to a group of minimum 5 persons and maximum 25 persons visiting Indonesia for tourism purpose and or socail-culture sojourn.
The validity of these visas is 90 days as of issuing date with maximum staying period of 60 days from the date of arrival in Indonesia.
Members of group holding collective visitation visas must carry his/her own passport and enter and exit Indonesian territory only with the group.
Multiple Visitation Entry Visa (code E)
The validity of these visas is 90 days as of issuing date. Multiple entry visas are valid for a maximum of one year from the date of first entry into Indonesia, with the visitation period of each entry not exceeding 60 days.
Request for transit visa be made by completing application form and enclosing:
- Two 4x6 cm color photographs.
- Passport with at least 18 months validity.
- Letter of Clearance from Indonesian Immigration authority and a sponsorship letter or letter of applicant guaranteeing on th availablity of funds to cover living expenses while in Indonesia.
- Proof of a return ticket or a ticket issued for travelling to other countries.
Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders (Other than Indian)
Diplomatic/Official passport holders approaching for visas should complete application form in kind and enclose the following:

- Passport with at least 6 months validity;
- Diplomatic Note from the concerned embassy/mission/authorities, stating name, designation and the purpose of visit.
