Indonesian drummer breaks world record after 72 hour beating drum
JAKARTA (Antara): Drummer Kunto Hartono looked pale and tired after beating drum for 72 hours to break the world record on Thursday at the Sumantri Brojonegoro Sports Hall in South Jakarta.
Previously, the world record was held by Alvaro Lopez who made it 60 hours last May in Florida, the U.S.
Also witnessing the record-breaking event was Kunto´s family as well as State Minister of Tourism and Culture I Gede Ardika.
Kunto, who is a tailor specializing in making up jeans for a living, started the effort on Monday at about 9:15 a.m. and finished the effort on Thursday at 11:15 a.m.
Earlier in August, he beat the drum for 61 hours in Bogor but the feat was not officially registered to break the world record.
